Late last year, East Tennessee and several surrounding states had forest fires for weeks on end. They seemed never-ending to locals. It really hit hard when the fires reaches Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Several lost their homes, some their lives, but the well known main street was untouched.
My family and I went down a few weeks after the fires when Gatlinburg opened up again. I had my Canon in hand and couldn’t stop clicking. It was near the holidays, so Christmas decorations brightened the city, but it was easy to see where the fire touched. Here is a slideshow of town when we went. It still blows my mind to see the damage I captured.
Thank you for reading guys. Keep that area in your prayers as many still mourn losses and continue to rebuild.
